Much consideration is given to the exterior appearance of a property in San Diego, but you might not be aware of the interior features. Just as vital as the surface layers of the house are the arteries that run through its inside.

The plumbing in your home might suffer from improper materials, repairs, and maintenance.

What plumbing is most popular?
​Even though Plastic piping is very Popular and Economical. A lot of plumbers use this type of material for water pressurized plumbing.
 
When I worked for plumbing companies in the 1980s they would install Plastic pipe called Polybutylene. Eventually it was all called back and replaced with copper piping.

I only will use Copper Piping. And I have always placed piping insualtion if the copper piping is going to be buried in the dirt.

And even though copper costs more I always prefer Quality parts over saving a few dollars for my customers materials.

There is an upgrade from this product called Pex plumbing (Plastic Piping). Which is very economical compared to Copper Piping. Which is something I prefer not to use. Although Like I said I always use Copper Piping for any Water Pressurized systems.

Many Homes in the San Diego Area are affected by one of three plumbing problems:

Piping that has been determined to be defective/out of date
Polybutylene is a substance that is no longer acceptable for installation and is not used in newly constructed dwellings. 

Polybutylene was formerly expected to be the pipe of the future because of its low cost and simple installation, making it an alternative to conventional copper pipes.

Although in the end, the material did not hold up well, and leaky pipes were a result.

The lifespan of the pipes and water fittings has ended
Each component of a house has a predicted lifespan. This also applies to the plumbing. The parts could wear out more quickly or endure longer on occasion.

Advanced signs of degradation are rather simple to spot. It is time to call a re-piping plumber to evaluate the aging pipes because severe corrosion on the pipes is a telltale sign that the piping may be nearing the end of its useful life.

Defective homeowner or handyman repairs
While it is occasionally true that people believe they can complete some plumbing tasks on their own, it is much less probable that a qualified plumber in the San Diego area will repair a pipe or install or piping component incorrectly.

Inaccurate and/or dangerous water heater installation or repairs, traps that are installed backwards or doubled up, drains having no venting, and improperly fastened pipes are some frequent mistakes made during home renovation projects.

Either done by a handyman or a homeowner. That I have repaired/replaced many times.
