I have always preferred to just dig it up. And to just use ABS Plastic piping. And a secret method is to reroute the drainage line around the house if possible.

Especially if there is just dirt around the house. Which will cut down on the amount of jack hammering inside the house.

Although replacing may seem like a hassle at first when you read the following you will understand why I always prefer to dig it up. Well there are a few exceptions.

I would find it difficult to believe that a cast iron pipe or an ABS Plastic pipe would be able to be cut with scissors.

That is installed. And since this film is real thin it can easily damaged if there is a major stoppage when using the big cable to unclog the main drain.

Although there are extenuating circumstances. For instance if there is a small crack I guess I would say it is not that bad of an idea.

The other popular method is called pipe bursting. A more invasive trenchless repair and costlier method that can be done when a sewage line is too damaged to be repaired with pipelining.

The existing pipe in your system is destroyed by technicians feeding a cone-shaped bit through it, and a new pipe is installed in its place right away. Although it does cost more and takes longer, this method does not necessitate deep excavation.

However, if the sewer system in your house has significant damage, excavation is required. Because replacing or repairing part of the piping especially if it is corroded and cracked or if it has a dip, this happens when the earth shifts or sinks down.
